LifeLink - The Premier NO MONTHLY FEE Elderly Panic Button Available on the Market Today.

Benefits of the Spare Elderly Panic Button

Since we first offered the LifeLink no monthly payment emergency personal alert system for sale to the public, our customers have informed us that medical necklace pendants are sometimes lost, or more often, simply misplaced for a while.

One idea that we have found popular is to have a spare elderly panic button on hand.  Having one or more spare pendants ready for use ensures no interruption in service of the LifeLink system.  In a situation where the panic button is lost or misplaced, users can just utilize the spare device and place it around their neck; you are back and protected.  When the primary pendant shows up again, the spare device is simply placed back where it belongs - on the shelf, or maybe on the bathroom floor (since the bathroom is a vulnerable location) ... ready for use again as a spare at some point in the future.

Likewise, many of our customers have actually found that strategically placing several elderly panic buttons throughout the house is an even better way to go.  This adds an additional layer of security that covers any one of a number of situations - a lost or misplaced pendant, battery problems, forgetting to wear the panic button, even for those who simply can't or don't wish to actually wear the pendant on their body.  Some people have an adversity to this or simply don't want to change their lifestyle.  We call this approach "Pendant Placement".  With Pendant Placement, users simply place the buttons on the floor in an out-of-the-way area of a particular room.  A common area is behind a table leg or in a corner.  Many choose the bathroom, by the bath or shower, as an area of placement.  See the diagram below for an example.  The red square box shown in the hallway represents the placement of the actual LifeLink personal alert system.  Each of the red dots/squares represents an particular panic button pendant deployed throughout the house.  To facilitate this and to make it cost-effective, we offer the"Econo-Pack of Spare Pendants".  The Econo-Pack comes with 5 pendant devices in a single pack.

For those that are bothered about wearing something around their neck, or even for those who feel that utilizing the LifeLink personal alert system will change their routine too much, employing a 5-pack of pendants and strategically deploying them around the house is an ideal compromise.  The user still receives the protection of the LifeLink personal alert system, but they don't have to feel that they need to change their daily living situation.  They needn't even be concerned about the pendants or the system itself on a daily basis (though they should be tested periodically).  As such, in an emergency, though the user may not be able to get up vertically, they can crawl their way to the nearest pendant and press the panic button to call for help.

Other customers place a spare elderly panic button on the nightstand.  This is done because feedback has shown that, at times, during a change of clothes, some users may tend to forget to put their elderly panic button back around their neck.  Having the pendant available on the nightstand will ensure that you still have access to the medical alert system, even in this situation.

The Econo-Pack is the ultimate elderly panic button solution because, not only is it the most economical solution, but also, by securing that many spare pendant devices, you have versatility in how you plan your coverage.  As a note, up to eight (8) panic buttons can be used with a particular LifeLink Console.

As a note, even if you feel that the Econo-Pack isn't necessary in your situation, we do encourage each of our customers to seriously consider securing at least one spare pendant for the monitoring device for the reasons noted within this page.

One of the questions we sometimes get asked by our elderly customers or potential customers is, "Why don't you offer a medical alert bracelet or braclet, also referred to as a wrist pendant"?  The answer is that we used to.  Unfortunately, we had a few situations in which the user wore the elderly panic button on the wrist and had taken a fall, but they were unable to press the emergency button, because they couldn't move one side of their body - a common situation under a stroke condition.  So, a user wearing the pendant on their left side and experiencing a stroke that affected their right side would possibly be unable to press the alert panic button to notify the LifeLink personal alert system Console.  The solution we arrived at was to offer just the pendant-style panic button instead of the medical alert braclet.  This way, in case of a stroke, the elderly panic button would be reachable from either side of the victim's body.
